Yet another newbie

[Want to mod a punto]

Hi guys
I have used this site to help me find out some info about my punto when the head gasket went on it found the site very helpfull:worship: and now that i want to mod my punto need your help again guys:hug:. I have just changed the clutch on it myself and had to take suspension strut off to allow room for gearbox to come out anyway to cut a long story short i have decided to lower it now as i have it off, the advice i need is i went into Halfords today to find out what i get with a full lowering kit and they said just the spring and shocks for £385 (less than £200 on ebay ) so will i have to purchase new dust covers and bump rubber or can i use my old ones and where can i get the two bolts that secure the hub to the strut from as i was told i can only get these parts from a fiat dealer Thanks again guys hope you can help.........

hi! welcome to the forum,
there's loads of places on the interweb that sell lowering kit, why you need lower strut bolts? i used high tensile bolts from a motorfactor when i snapped the ones on my uno only a couple £ for a pair plus some nyloc nuts

Hi there halfords said it was a fiat part as the ones i have have seized and i need to replace them with flat bolts still unsure about rubbers can i use mine or do i need new ones many thanks for response

if the existing bumpstops and dust covers are ok you can use them just cut the bumpstops accordingly

Hi whilst taking the strut off the pinch bolt on the ball joint broke any ideas on what i could use ?? thanks
