Wow, is it just me or are there 4 different rims on there. You're totally in the market for a bargain set of 3 rims that are no use to anyone else now!!
Interesting times ahead, having seen your other one (back when all the bits were all attached to each other) I'm sure this'll be great. Good luck.

It's awesome! And that intercooler is the size of a planet. Whats it off, a Mack Truck?

I'm sure I remember pictures of this car been on the net years ago. Was all of it gold/brown at one stage.

Yes every wheel is different, ranging from a 13 inch rim with a 135 profile tire through to an Integrale 15 inch alloy with 205/50 rubber They are all scrap wheels just used to move it about. Time will tell what rims it will end up with.

It certainly is an interesting mix of parts. I have only scratched the surface.

The intercooler is from a Sapphire Cosworth :devil: and is a little bit bigger than standard

The car stated dark blue then yellow then gold (as per the doors) then it was in the process of being changed to red. I have not decided what colour to go for. White with black rims is the current thinking but that may change.

An interesting dig through the parts included fully rose jointed front suspension set up. It has never been fitted but looks to have been very well made



Might see if it fits my road car first :slayer:

Can't wait to see more of this; I saw a little of it when I picked up a spare y10 gearbox off Trevor but I am sure there are plenty more tricks it has up its sleeve

I am keen to get a rose-joint set up on mine as well, and there are plenty of weight saving techniques I can see in your pictures :slayer:

Going to keep a beady eye on this one as well

The weight saving holes cut in the hub carriers are an eye opener.

Not sure exactly how much it weighs in at but can't be much more than 500kg if that

Hadn't noticed that one! With all these holes, makes me wonder how stiff everything is! The body should be fine because it has a full roll cage but suspension bits seem a bit more risky...I guess with a much reduced overall weight all these parts are put under less strain...and there are some safety factors to eat into as well.

When I get round to this on mine I will try to document the before and after weights of each component as well as the complete car.

How come the bonnet has to have a hole cut out for the intake manifold? Is it not the same basic fitment as the GTie?...Or are there modified throttle bodies or something? Or or....lol..is it for cooling/ looking cool (which it does )? Mine gets way too hot

From memory, the engine was mounted slightly higher than standard because the rest of the car became soooooo low that the sump would hit the ground. So when the bonnet was put back on there was no clearance and the simplest solution was to cut a hole in the bonnet.:devil:

I will try to get a bit more clarity on everything that has been modified when I start to take it apart. At least I have another y10 to compare it to.
