My Ducato’s engine (1999 - 1.9 TD - XUD9 TE) has seized and I have the potential to source a new XUD9A engine, which is the non turbo option. I’ve been told there are no issues in bolting on all the ancillary parts, including the turbo, which will effectivity make it the XUD9 TE. However, one source tells me the block will need modifications for the turbo’s oil ways.
Any pointers please, one way or the other before I miss out on the engine or buy something that’s no good?
