Technical X1/9 with 16v head?

I have a 1500 engine from a x1/9 in my car, i can now get a 16v head from a palio 1600 16v, but i would just like to know if it would fit onto the x1/9 block?

All sohc engines have a head bolt pattern where the two front ('cause they mount sideways) outermost head bolt holes are not in line with the other three head bolt holes along the front of the engine.

The 16v head has all the bolts in a straight line.

The sohc engine has one oil "UP" delivery hole.

The 16v engine requires two, as well as oil drain back gallerys on the rear of the engine.

But with enough ingenuity (read between the lines ... this means cash) Im sure it would be possible.

But to directly answer your question, no it won't fit straight on.
