Or so I'm told!

A few parts I've ordered haven't arrived; parts bloke told me that the italians are having a 3-day "strike" due to them winning the world cup?!

Probably B.S. but just to let you know . . .

I'd probably believe that. Bloody Italians!

Yep, when I worked at halfords, getting alloys from Italy was a nightmare (and thats where most come from). I think it's August it starts.

Was gutted as went for some pizza from a place i dont go to that often, and they were shut, and a notice on the window saying due to world cup victory closed til wednesday

FYI a lot of 24/7 production factories do have a summer shut down period (even in the UK)...its just much more prevalent in Mainland Europe

I'll think you'll find the main difference between our shut down and theres is that the italians also stop all heavy goods vehicles from operating as well during their break. So if you order something from italy just before the shutdown and they run late in producing it which happens 9 times out of 10 its going to sit in ther despatch area because the HGV's cant move it.
