made a boast to my friend that my car is faster than hers. didn't realise hers was the 16v version of the 1.4 renault clio. mine is a 1.4 tipo (last edition of the carbs) so its the most powerful 1.4 tipo they made as the injection engines had less power. but yeah looked up the 0-60 time for the clio and it's 10seconds as opposed to 12.2 for mine.... she wants to race! anyone want to lend me the 1.8 sedi? anyway in which i can improve my performance apart from taking out non essential parts! (i'm planning to remove back seats under the pretence of washing them and the parcel shelf (with big speakers) too) any more help?

hmmm well mine is the mk1 tipo and i reckon they look best:p looks before performance! (as far as i'm aware the 2.0 sedi was only in the mk2 form). i dunno hopefully she will short shift. the clios don't move till 3500 rpm! i passed my test in one.

i think sabotage will be neccessary how about if i remove two of her spark plugs? :devil: or ask if i could put my 'bag' in her boot and fill it with lead weights!! :) where there's a will, there's a way!
 
Nope.....The 2 litre 16valve was origionaly available in 5 door spec from late 1991. When the 3 door tipo was launched in 1993 all subsequent 16 valves were 3 door. Hope that helps.

PS - If you got hold of one and removed the "Sedicivalvole " Badge - you would win and scare the F...... out of the froggy car!!!!!!!
 
Yeh I'm sure I've seen MK1 Sedichi's, You'll probably win without sabbotage.

When my one.six was at its peak (when I bought it way back in 2003) it was taking out the BMW 316i, the BMW 318i, the Saxo 1.6 VTS and a whole variety of other more powerful motors, have faith man.

If you are really worried take the air filter out of the box for just that race, you'll def win :D
