Just Wondering how many passed with the AA or BSM compared with Independant Instructors. Personally I passed with an Independant Instructor, i think there far more patient and understanding if you get something wrong.

I passed with the AA, I don't understand what you mean about them being impatient? Some might be, but their just people, a lot of AA instructors used to be independant anyway, but probably went to work for the AA for money reasons (ie they get a free car for one thing!). I had a 2 hour lesson per week for 3 months, which wsa enough for me to pass first time.

My instructors car was an 06' Citroen C2 Diesel, easy to drive no revs to control when moving off, so easy really!! Not bad for parking either!!

At the risk of showing my age; with BSM in an Austin Metro 1.0 City X. Note the 'X' on the end there, most important

Both instructors I had were Company, but shatever his name was from NSM (Neasden School of Motoring) was a fukin retard who practically drove for me and when was driving himself, hit two parked cars.

Daniel from the AA was and still is the man, I'm sure i've seen him driving about still. Had me my license before I knew it. Top stuff.

PS: I see one proper fit girl teaching for the AA and another for BSM down here :D

independant, did my test in 1990 (i think), already ahda full bike licence, sp the raod sanse bit was with me (8 yrs, then, on 2 wheels, between 50 and 900cc makes you very aware, and gives you a strong sense of preservation)

dont know if he is still going, did my driving lessons with Penkhull school of motoring, he was brilliant. on the later lessons, once i had done my 'test passing' manouvres, he used to take me on rural A roads at nght, teach me about both making safe and swift progress, and night driving techniques. passed first time, no great secret in it, he didnt put me in for my test until i was ready, seemed fair to me.

Where i live, it is used by many motoring schools, and i can tell you, the majority of learner teachers cannot drive!! And the worse are BSM and AA. I follow them sometimes when they are one up, and they have bad habits that must be passed on to pupils. the worst poor driving habit, is using inappropriate signals or none at all or last minute!!

Andy.
