Technical Wishbone (Ball Joint Pin)

I bought some Wishbones recently changed them. My Brake Discs finally arrived today and when I lowered the car to the floor from the Axle Stands (Hellcat ) The fookin Pins fell out the Carrier Hub and because my car is so low I cannot lift it back up again.

Anyway, does ANYONE know what mm the actual Ball Joint Pins are meant to be?

The ones that I got are 15mm. How many sizes are there and what ones go on a:

Make: Fiat
Model: Tipo
Enigine: 1.6 (1582cc)
Chassis: 04660819

Please help me, I've been walking everywhere for nearly a Month I miss driving

Oh man! So it's really on the floor now?

I'd have thought yours would be the 15mm ones (I take it the pin was pushed in correctly and the pinch bolt tightened? Sounds like for some reason your Mk1 has the 17mm hub carriers.

How to get the car off the deck? hmmm can you start at the back and lift that on one side until the front is up enough to get a jack under the sil?

I'm guessing its sat on the springs and dampers... but the wishbones are not holding it.

This is what I thought. Last time someone worked on Tipo they got Pins that were Toooooo big and they didn't go in So I thought I'd get the smaller ones and not make the same mistake twice. oh well is all I can say.

I was going to take a pic, it actually looked really nice, like it was super low to the floor, wheels in the arches and all

I got my two brothers and one of their mates to life whike I slid the Jack in and lifted her back up again.

Back to Square one.... No Wheels and no Wish Bones

I used a Veneer calliper to measure but I@m not sure I'm reading the readout properly, All I can conclude is that the new ones are def smaller then then old ones.

I might have been supplied to wrong wishbones altogether.

Maybe the hub has worn excessivly due to loose bolts...
And as H/C say's it is 15mm balljoint, as is the 1.4 too..
Only the 1.8 and 2.0 share the larger ones.
Ive a stack load in my shed from previous breakers...

If there are only two sizes then the Parts I have been supplied where just completly wrong.

I measured the New Pins against the old pins and the new pins are DEF smaller.

1992 Tipos should have 17mm pins. All Post 1990 Tipos have 17m pins. Only 88-90 have 15mm.

Had a feeling that was the case as I know my Tipo is a Crossover Tipo. Some parts new some parts old, bit of mix n match but its what makes my Tipo great

All is on, Wishbones fit but something is RUBBING something on the NSF wheel/disc/something

Was exactly that I did it as soon as I typed that message above, was feelin tired but thought it has to be done anyway so might as well investigate now.

Do I need the Heat Shields? what do they protect exactly?

They're protecting them ball joints you've just fitted

What sort of condition are yours in? I've a pair of non-Sedici ones (brand new and painted red) which I've no use for so if you want they're yours. I'll give them to someone at Stanford to get to you?
