Hi there guys. Brand new to this forum so hopefully some of you guys can help.

Pretty much I have a sub an amp enclosure ready to wire up. Someone use to have it connected as I found the old wires under the seat.

Anyway I know everything to do but my JVC headunit doesn't seem to have a remote wire.

Dying to connect it all up ASAP so please can you help?

It's a mk2 2001 punto btw.

Kris.

Cheers for the reply ziggy however I still can't seem to find the correct wire, I do have a picture of the back of the headunit if that would be any help.

Kris.

jvc g342, I have tried the manual and it's literally been no help at all.

So I could just put my remote wire in the bit next to the 12 wire?

Sorry if I'm being slow here, your help is muchly appreciated.

Kris.

As ziggy has alreayd said there will be live wire which is the remote wire or signal wire, which tells the amp to turn itself on :D

But don't connect it to a 12v feed as the amp will always be on! And you'll have an unhappy battery and no go go....

highlited in red is your remote wire...

splice into that and attach sub remote wire to it and test.

looks to be a standard ISO connection so you need pin 5 on connector A

your picture of the connection label confirms this

link to Wiki

on a different note it seems you have your aftermarket radio connected directly to the car's wiring loom, punto's need an extra cable to stop the aftermarket radio frying the cars body computer/central timer unit (call it what you will)

you need to address this before you do serious damage to your car !

Hi there i have just loaded up the manual for your unit.

looking at the wiring diagram these is what you need to do splice into the blue and white wire which as ziggy said the remote cable.

on page 3 of this link
http://www.jvc.ro/files/installation_manual/kd-g341_2_3_install_deschis_ro.pdf

is your wiring diagram print take it out to car and sit and work it out and you will see the blue and white remote cable.

Attached is the photo of wiring diagram as well.
Hope this helps??

wow you guys have been a great help.

But when I look at my cables the a5 slot is occupied by a whit wire do I want to splice that wire.

Thing is since I've been playing around the airbag light is stuck on so I don't want to be cutting the wrong wire hahaha.

I don't get why there can't be a nice little blue and white wire for me to connect it too.

Most frustrating thing is the previous owner had this setup because I found his old wiring.

Still confused no wonder I'm in the newbie bit.

Kris

Hmmm so the previous owner still has power and ground cable there under seat ?

What model is your punto ? As some models have a subwoofer in boot next to parcel shelf as standard so if yours is this model then the wiring won't work with a aftermarket head unit

Regards Steve

we found the old power cable , remote and stereo cable going from the front to under the seats where they been cut off.

He did say this was the headunit he uses,

Yeah it does have the old stock 100w sub as its a 2001 elx

He also put in some infinity door speakers as well which I don't even know where to start with that haha.
