Tuning Wiring help for aftermarket stereo

I have a 59 fiat bravo and I have changed to an aftermarket stereo, I am trying to wire it to the battery but I am struggling to get the wire from the battery into the cabin, any advice?

Why do you need to wire it to the battery? There is a constantly live feed in the OEM ISO wiring harness

Mine currently runs through the cigarette lighter and when you turn off the car it loses its settings

Like MEP said, there is and always was wiring from the original Radio in the form of ISO cables that powered the Radio. How did you wire the the new aftermarket stereo in, in the first place?? Cause this should be common knowledge before you go about wiring your own aftermarket stereo system?

A friend wired it, there is power as it's running off the cigarette lighter but when the car is turned off the stereo loses all power and it's settings, I need to fuse the cigarette lighter which keeps blowing so a direct connection to the battery would be better

Or can you help with wiring from the iso? Iv not bought an iso harness and weren't able to get power without connecting to the cigarette lighter

I haven't installed new stereo on my Bravo yet, so I'm not quite sure if it's the exact same. coloring for the OEM wires, but I sure hope it is

You friend has wired it incorrectly. The permanent live should be wired to the ISO permanent live (this will store your radio presets etc without it all resetting) and the +ve switched signal feed should go the the cigarette lighter (this will turn the radio on and off with the ignition

Sounds like your friend has wired both feeds to the cigarette lighter currently which is wrong. Should be easy to change though
