General Wiper Blade Replacement

Hey Folks,

Just bought a set of replacement wiper blades for my GP (front and back).
I have already found a post explaining how to fit a new blade to the rear wiper, however, I am a little confused how to replace the front blades....the handbook is a bit vague...how do you turn the blade 90 degress - is there a clip to release the blade and allow it to turn???

Got set of champion performance flat blades for the front and a valeo blade for the back all for just over £30 from local motor factors which I thought was fairly decent....far cheaper than my fiat dealer.

Want to get them fitted asap because the front ones are starting to smear badly (they are 3 year old tho so have lasted well).

Hope someone can please help

Go to a Vx dealer and ask for a set for a Corsa D, same part, OEM quality, different box, big saving

Same thing with pollen filters.

put the new blades somewhere warm prior to fitting this will make the press in "wings/ clips" a bit more flexable and less likely to snap as plastic will obviously get brittle with the cold

Just finally got round to having a look at the existing blades.

Just another question....does the existing clip come off of the blade??? I notice it has a metal pin through it so I am guessing the answer is no.

My new blades came with two types of clip but they only clip onto the blade (no metal pin).

some of the click comes away there are 2 tabs that you push in on the side of the clip these are attached to the blades then pull the back down and slide out there is a metal tab at the front to hold it in

Yeah that sounds like you are explaining how to remove the blade from the wiper arm....I am questioning whether or not the actual clip (with wings) can be removed from the blade after the blade has been removed from the wiper arm????

Finally got the chance to have a go at replacing my front blades....the wipers I got aint great....really streaky plus the clip seems a bit weak / flimsy (didnt come with a replica clip that is already on the GP). Going to be returning them to the place I got them.

Anyone know where I can get a good set of flat blades with the genuine clip for the GP?? The ones on my car are the original but the clip seems to be part of the blade (it is fixed on to the clip with a metal pin)
