Hi,

I started my car a few days ago in the snowy weather and when I got in there was a strange burning smell (electrical??). I then found my wipers and washers not working. I have today replaced the fuse and the washers now work but still no wipers. I still get a smell each time I start it up but it clears quite quickly. Anyone got any ideas what this might be and how I go about fixing it.

thanks a lot

Pop the carpet from the nearside bulkhead (RHD) and see if the motor will run if flicked by long screwdriver.

DO NOT PUT YOUR FINGERS IN THERE WITH THE POWER TO THE MOTOR ON.

Possibly a burnt point on the track.

If no action at all, check that you have a supply, then put an extra earth in.

Cheers

Many thanks for that, sorry to sound dim (I am a woman after all..lol) where is the nearside bulk head?

Hi

It wont be just you, but if there is ice or snow on front or rear screen you need to scrap it off and detach the blades from the screens before you start the car...

Happens most winters you need to walk around the car...
