Magneti Marelli wiper motor from Euro Car Parts @ £69.99

Mick.

Thanks for that info Mick, it was appreciated
I went to the Euro Car Parts website in England, bit could not find a link to a windscreen wiper motor under the Fiat Ducato 244 type vehicle

I am in Australia, and the info on my wiper motor is DENSO TGE 422 P 12V

Websites which sell the Magneti Marelli wiper motor, say that it does not suit
my vehicle, when I click in Fiat Ducato - 2005 - 244 type chassis - 2.8 JTD engine.

Any info on where I can obtain a DENSO TGE 422 P 12V, would be appreciated

If anyone can confirm that the earlier Fiat Ducato 94 to 2002 model DENSO wiper motor will fit the 2002 to 2006 model, then I would be interested to hear about this, I have found plenty of earlier ones on eBay, but once again they say that they are not suitable for my model

Regards and many thanks in advance

|I have a X244 myself, and by going into the Euro Car Parts web site here in the UK, and by entering my vehicle registration number, that was the item it listed.

Maybe they put a different motor on Aussie motors?

Thanks for that info Mick

They did not recognise my Australian Rego number, that is why I had to put my year and model etc in

As a note of interest, perhaps the Fiats over here are different configurations

The Denso wiper motors, do look the same as the Magneti Marelli ones, but all the ones I have seen on eBay say that they are not suitable for my X244 model

I am a bit too far away to exchange it, if it is the wrong one

It's worth popping of the electrical box its only held on with plastic clips. Then cleaning the wipers and tracks and regrease that is often all that's required.

Thanks for that info corcai, I do appreciate your input

I have already repaired my wiper motor, and am looking for a new spare one to carry with me

Last week I was touring around for a bit of sunshine, about 1,000 kilometres from home, when my windscreen wipers stopped working.
After checking for fuses, relays, loose wires etc, and unable to find anything wrong, I cut my holiday short

At home I removed my wiper motor, to find that the bottom was all rusty, and that the bottom spring type separator, between the two permanent magnets, had rusted away.
This had allowed one of the magnets to fall out, and attach itself to the rotor

The only Fiat commercial place in Western Australia does not have one on the shelf, and they say that it has to be imported from Italy, so I may as well get it myself

I made a new separator (unsure of the correct name), from what is called a bull clip.
A spring steel clip, you use to clip pieces of paper together.
After fitting it, I used an aluminium pop rivet, to keep it in place.

My wipers do now work, but… they will only keep working until they fail, as it was just a bodgie job to keep me going.

I am not interested in a second hand wiper motor, as I can see that they are not waterproof, and the pictures of the ones I have seen, were showing bubbles of rust.

If anyone can put up a direct link to a DENSO TGE 422 P 12V wiper motor, then I would be most grateful

Once again
Regards and many thanks in advance

Thanks for that info corcia
Everything is now sorted and I have received a new windscreen wiper motor, which I shall carry as a spare. (I did plug it in, to make sure it was the correct one) LOL
I ended up getting it from England, as we were experiencing problems with the Australian Internet, due to a new broadband being rolled out in our area

Picture #1 is top left then clockwise
#1 is original spring spacer, the second spacer was rusted out and just not there, that is why the magnet fell out
#2 is what I made a new spring spacer from
#3 is new spring spacer pop riveted in place to hold both magnets in place
#4 is everything reassembled showing outside rust and pop rivet

As this is the very first time I have ever had a windscreen wiper motor fail, I have a theory
I purchased the motorhome in 2014 with just over 30,000 kilometres (less than 19,000 miles) on the clock. I have done just under another 30,000 Ks since I have owned it.

It has obviously been parked up for months or even years at a time
As the electric motor part of the unit is open to atmosphere, when the moisture got in, it just sat there, as without the engine running, there would have been no warmth to evaporate the moisture

Although people may think that Australia is hot, where I live in the bottom half of Western Australia, it is cool, and wetish in the winter months

Hope that makes sense

What I would like to point out, is that the reason for repairing the wiper motor, was that I was unsure if the stalk had been damaged
