Had this problem a few months ago, when cold or rain and I have the heating on my windows are misting up and I got told to change the filter inside the car which I did and its still the same.carpets are not wet or I'm not losing water anywhere so I'm stumped to what else to do ?

If its not water ingress, is the heater system set to flow air or do you have the air recirculation on where is heats up the same air rather than keep heating fresh cool air?

I accidentally left mine on and my windows steamed up even though the heater was warm. Worth making sure its not on.

I have no air coming in the car if I don't leave it on recirc
The fan is blowing but min air coming out so I have to switch the button on recirc to get some air blowing.........I've never had so many problems with a car since I got this punto:cry:

Cheers for the help fella, will have to rip the dash apart and see what's going on.....another car on my list to sort over Christmas time but I use this my daily driver more than the other:);)

Cheers stewart

I had a similar problem with misting up, the wire to the recirculating valve was not connected up behind the glovebox so in effect it was always shut closed despite the switch being off (light not on). Have you tested the valve by switching fan off so quiet then press recirc button you should hear a noise as it closes and opens. On mine I found a small wire and connector loose, maybe since new. Stopped the misting, before it was awful in wet weather no air coming in cabin.

you can open the glove box and see the recir flap, manually operate it if you want but I 'assume' if the airflow is worse when it's open then the flap is ok however I would still check the intake.

right ive taken the radio out, took the filter out at the bottom and no leaves in there.checked to see if the button works fine which it does and the flap moves when i press it on or off but now i dont know what to look at or what else to take off to see if there is any blockage:confused:any other idea's please guys

cheers stewart(y)

I don't know where the fresh air inlet is, but if it's easy enought to get to, maybe you could fabricate some sort of airflow tester.
Maybe a candle, or smoke etc.
It sounds crazy, but will at least prove whether you have airflow.

On our old megane, the gears on the flap deteriorated and one had fallen off.
Seems it was a common fault.
This resulted in the mechanism going through the process, but nothing actually happening, so we were stuck on recirculating air.

I manually locked in an half and half position, then removed the wires.

I had this problem when I first got mine's. I quickly fired Rain X over all the windows which stopped the misting before finally finding out that the spare wheel well was full of water.

Albeit yours probably is a different issue but at least it means you can drive in the meantime without steamed up windows 'til you get to the bottom of it.

I do have some rain x some where so I will put that on.the flap is working fine from what i can see and its moving open and shut so that's what I can't understand.does anyone know how easy to take the fan out Which I take its under, behind the glove box, maybe whip that out to see the tubing better ?
