Ever tried wrappimg an orange in paper without any creases? Good luck!

Better paying to get it done pro IMO

You will never put them right by yourself :)

Like Wimmy said get a pro to do the job.

"It must be Fiat Bravo, forget the rest"

if you do it your self good luck. but if you get pulled by the police youll have to rip it off. and if you get it done by a pro you get a peice of paper to anoy the cops with.

"a piece of paper to annoy the cops with"?

Whats all that about then? If its too dark its too dark no matter who fitted to them (been pulled 3 times with pro fitted tints)

some times you can get a certificate to prove it is legal. well thats what i have heard anyway. im sure there is somethink you can get to prove you have 70% light goin through the front side windows.

Lol, they may give you a piece of paper but it doesn't prove anything. If plod thinks they are dark they will use their own light meter on them no matter what your piece of paper says.

aaa. ok cool. well thats usefull to no. but will their meter just say it is illegal anyway as cops hate tinted glass?

Cops don't hate tinted glass they are just enforcing the law. By all means challenge the result in court on the basis of "They set it to be illegal even if it isn't" but I think you'll get short shrift.

The fact is that with tints below the legal limit you are signficantly less able to see clearly.

yeah i thought as much was hard enogh stickin an L plate on ma bruvs ped wat sorta price are the pros chargin then?

i been quoted £80 for the back 3. haven't asked about all 5

funny that coz i got stopped buy the fuzz this afternoon. they had big squads on the roads side pulling car witout mots and tax and takin them away on tow trucks. when they pulled me i couldnt believe it. pulled the window down and he say i was pulled because of my front window tints. he didnt have a tint tester but said i needed them testing to stop further interuption

Oz, have you never had tinted windows?

I've had 2 bravo's with tinted windows and on my first the front tint (50% transmission) it was barely noticable. You could tell it was done for sure, but it was quite light. It made very little discernible difference.
On my second they were an unknown darkness, but when voluntered for a test they failed (no specific figure given to me, but i suspect 30-50% transmission)
These made a little difference when parking or reversing at night(ie it was hard to see the kerb), but not on the road, because vehicles with their lights on are really easy to see at night.

Vehicles are but people walking along don't have lights chap.

I have no personal experience of tints on one of my cars but it stands to reason, Tint=less light transmission=you don't see as clearly.

It even applies to glasses. Opticians will not sell you prescription shades with more than 30% tint as it's illegal to do so (or so my optician told me - I'm so trusting ;)) due to most people using them to drive.
