I didn't even know that we had tinted windows until I had the RAC do my winscreen chip and they needed to know if I have a blue or a green tint in case they needed to bring a new screen!
The blue and green tint is quite usual on all window glass. Insurance companies are more interested in aftermarket tinting where a dark film is applied to the windows.
Oh yes you should tell insurance companys every little thing.. They are trying there hardest not to pay out on my Sedi Teepot, 1 of the un-declared mods being dark tints....Doooooooooooooh
Well I couldn't get over what I heared today from my insurance company Liverpool & Victoria. I've been thinking of getting tints for a while, and although they add a bit of style, the main reason was to help protect any loads I carry in the back of my Doblo from prying eyes of theifs. So, I called up my insurance company to check if it would increase my policy and they turn round and said I can't have tints as it's classed as a mechanical modification how the hell is it mechanical?
The guy on the phone read off a list of mods they can cater for, alloy wheels, a-bars all that kind of stuff, but they won't do window tints
These companies get on my nerves, and it's not as if (no offence) I've got a fast car and I'm putting illegal tints on front windows or anything, just doing the back so no one can see in - I explained this and they still said no!
