Winding forward dials

I changed my dials a while back to white ones, now I want to put it back to stock, but didn't want the hassle of having to remove the needles again, so bought a new clock set, and hoped to wind the mileage forward to the mileage of the car.

Does anyone know how to do this? I can see the mileage mechanism but don't seem to be able to get to it without removing the needle?

i'm guessing they make it as hard to wind forward as back. I would just alter the one you have.

please forgive my ignorance of the clock design. On my bravo its a digi clock anyway so god knows how you adjust them

Could you connect a cordless drill to the end of the speedo cable (or place a nail/matchstick into the cable hole) and just leave it running for a few hours.

its electrical i think, not a physical cable. I dont think you can do it DIY. you'd probably have to take it to one of the many 'digital mileage correction' places you see advertised i would think :(

Analog - just spin
Digi - specialised place, no way you can do it by hand. Only if you find the chip where the milage is stored and transfer it on the new one - soldering time ;)

The Mk1 mechanical odometer is still electrically driven. They are designed so you can't easily change the milage. (for obvious reasons)

Thought so, i managed to take the whole speedo and mileage bit out, so I can just pop my old one in.

Cheers anyway.
