Hi all,
Just recetly I fell totally in love with my '94 899cc Cinq and only done 30K, but a few days ago I told my mate what I wanted to do to it and he was like "It will be all show no go" and I no he is right. With this beeing my first car, I really want to do it up, and I did want to do that the other week, but now I just feel if its going to be a waste of money. So please try and win me back over.

Cheers

At the end of the day the reason you mod a car is for your self, to that end the only waste of money is the money you don't know why you spent.

I see what you both mean, the car has only done 30k and runs fine, so I'm willing o keep it for a few years to get some no claims, wow, I just won myself back over lol, cheers anyway

Cheers

The only thing I can say is, apparently everyone falls in love with their first car. To be honest, when my dad bought me my sei I was so happy, I love this thing lol, I think it's so awesome haha.

Luke.

yeah but a modded 899cc is cheaper than a modded 1.1 sporting to insure, i agree it would be better to start with the sporting for the power side of things but for a first car i would go with the 899cc.

an 899cc modded to the same spec as a sporting will be more to insure than a standard sporting.

it's up to you in the end though. my car is all go and no show - and thats how i like it.

it costs me £2000 to insure my motor, for the 1.1 peugoet 106 i had cost me £2800. im guessing it would be about the same if not more because its a sporting? i prefer this car any day like !!!!

For styling if you'll probablly find the 899 is cheaper. Performance mods is the intresting one, depending on who you talk to if you mod a 899 to say 70bhp and a 1108 to the same power the 899 will probablly cost you the same if not more. Once you start on engine swaps then the rulebook changes, just how is so company & policy dependent it's unreal.
