You can get it as an option on the new Fiesta for only £20.

Will the Punto have it do you know? :slayer:

Think someone was saying theres a usb connection in the glovebox....

The option is called Blue&Me, its more than a just a USB connection, it runs Windows Automotive, a version of Windows CE 5.0. It links with your phone by Bluetooth, your MP3 player by USB in the glovebox, it'll even read txt messages out loud to you.

In the future as the system is upgradeable it will feature such items as satnav etc.

And the price of this? Well in the German and Italian markets (the only ones to have it atm) it is a 222 euro (about £150) option. Good value in my eyes.

Alright people. Help me please!

:bang:

I have just got an ipod mainly because i have an ipod connection in my Punto Grande but when I plug it in the USB connection nothing happens, I have tried clicking through the source selection on the head unit and steering wheel but for some reason it doesn't register. it flicks through the radio stations and CD but no ipod. Is there something else I should be doing?

Ta in advance.

does any one know why is they 2 usb connectors in the glove box & whats the differance with them thanks

One is for music (with the windows symbol on it) and the other is for diagnosis by technicians! (y)

If your car has one it means you havent got blue&me... You have the other bluetooth kit called the c1 summit or over... Early sportings come with this as standard and were changed to have blue&me later on, not long after launch!

there is a way to get your ipod to work though if you dont have blue&me but you'll need to get an ipod adaptor for the back of your cd player from the dealership, its costs around £65-70...

Have a search through the blue&me threads and theres more details in there such as the part number etc :)

Thanks for the reply.

What a f**kin swiz, wish they had told me that when I bought the car, not that I wouldn't have still bought it but I wouldn't have broke my back trying to get an ipod!!! So does this mean that that big chunk taking all the room in my glove box has absolutely no use as far as I am concerned?

Sorry for the aggressive response I was just really annoyed to find this out. Can anyone tell me if this box has any functional use as far as I am concerned or point me in the direction of a thread with some further info on what I can do via the usb.

Ive just bought a 07 reg punto grande sport i pick it up tomorrow, on the cd player it says mp3, but i just want to know will this be compatible with a ipod?

you might have to buy the adapter...it should have a usb port in the glovebox but probably wont recognise your ipod without the blue&me adapter

alternatively, just use a usb stick :)

EJ23 - the iPod will work fine provided your music is recorded as MP3s, rather than MP4s... Etc.

Personally I'd use a memory stick as they are much cheaper than an iPod, just as Cookie says.

And you don't have to scroll though a thousand songs to get one decent one if your iPod is anything like mine lol!! I need to find my shuffle haha!!

What if if it doesn't have a usb port? I've connected an mp3 player through the aux input but i want to connect a usb drive. Is there any way i can do that with the standard unit? I know it is not possible with just a wire ( like the aux one).

I have a 65 plate Punto Grande and want to connect an iPod but I cannot find any USB port in the glove compartment. Is there a way I can connect one without the USB?

Thanks

If you don't have Blue&Me then there won't be a USB in the glovebox.
Might I suggest this I've had one for a year now and has been flawless, it plugs into the back on your stereo and you can wire it either so it comes through into the glovebox or out beneath the heater controls. Using this means you can't use the steering wheel/radio controls to control the iPod but you can control the volume. Skipping through songs has to be done on the iPod itself.
