Just completed a 1200 or so mile trip over to the Emerald Isle to drive the north section of the WAW. There is a reason why it is called the Emerald Isle. Very spectacular, not cheap, No 5 ethanol petrol, but still well worth a visit. Some great driving roads (although in the "season" it gets very busy apparently)
We were there mid September & a lot of places were close/closing...but the roads were clear & well surfaced. Punto cabrio did not miss a beat, almost 40 mpg, didn't leak (except when you open the doors of course!) Only drama was someone spiked a tyre- just where the tread meets the sidewall -outside The Great National Hotel in Ballina.
In fact that was the worst Hotel we stayed at...AVOID.
Cost €75 for a cheapo oriental replacement - all in price! Now on the back....
Car needs a good hose down underneath, no oil, no water, nada!
