Hi all,
Hopeing you could help me with a odd problem that has just started yesterday.

The engine sounds like its running rough, it actually sounds like it is going "woof" at me.

Its really wierd. and I can't think where to start troubleshooting or investigating.

Will post a picture when I can.

Does anyone have any clues what it might be or where I should start looking?

Thanks in advance.

If I remember rightly theres a vacuum unit on the right hand side by the dizzy, listen to it and see if you can hear air going in, if you can there's a split. The hose on mine split and produced what you're describing. If it's gone just cut the broken bit off and pop it back on.

It looks like it's actually on the distributor, looks a bit like a space saucer or something with a hose coming out the top of it :D , a while since I've had one of these. Let me know how it goes.

Alternator bearings can make a rumbling or 'woofing' noise - on the FIRE, there is a single V-belt that drives only the alternator. So you can take the belt off (by slackening the alternator - I think you know how to do that by now...!) and see if the noise stops.

Bearings tend to expire after a recent re-tightening of the belt.
