Well project no frills is on hold as of today due to the fact I may be made redundant at the end of the month.

Obviously I need to save all my money due to the fact I have 3 mouths to feed, but if any one works or knows of any one who needs a repro mac operator/color specialist/creative retoucher please get in touch I have 14 years experience in the trade and regulary work on real top end magazine and advertising campaigns.

Cheers

Bad luck there M8 - hope you get sorted soon.
Real b*mmer with the timing, must have assumed your job was OK, having survived Xmas/New Year :(

feel for ya mate..got 4 mouths to feed and i got a job!! still bloody hard!

first off...get rid of car! that would be gone without thinking pal, its not needed and to be honest, waste of money?

get regsitering on jobs websites...even consider emailing your cv over to a few local and even national companies that specialise in your field.Be a little pro-active,so companies look at that very favourable.

most important...keep chin up and be strong for family :)

hope you get sorted

Ade

Realy sorry to hear that mate, keep ya chin up, something'll come up.
Don't sell the car unless you have too.

Bad luck fella.
Get your portfolio on people per hour website and go freelance from home if you haven't already.

same here mate keep ya chin up something will come up and like people say keep the car as long as you can mate you'll only regret selling it later when you get a better job

Sorry to hear that :(

If you are forced to sell the car, I will be coming into a little bit of money soon so I shall more than likely get a new car in the next few months so mine will be for sale.

Hope something comes along for you soon though.

John

sorry to hear this robin, good luck with the job hunting,

Stephend

Thanks chaps, the car will be staying as it isn't worth a great deal any way, but luckily I could see this coming so I have stashed some cash plus if I do go I will get 3 months wages of which 6 will be tax free. So I am pretty sure I will be able to sort something.

Free lance is appealing to me at the moment as I will get to see more of my kids.

At te end of the day I am not gonna worry about it too much as there is nothing I can do to stop it, I will just have to find something else even if I have to take a pay cut for the time being, but I would like to work closer to home as it stands I commute 4 to 6 hours a day to get to and from work and my travel costs me in the region of 6k a year.

Like my parents said whey cloud has a silver lining so we will have to wait and see.

If I get to keep my job I will be attending brooklands but if not the car won't be going for it's cambelt so I will not risk bringing it.

Cheers

Sad news.

I have just fought to save one of my staff from being made redundant.
A bit of restructuring after some natural wastage and he still has a job.....for now.
He knows nothing about it and is merrily plodding along.

The fact that he lives up to his nickname so well didn't help his case: Captain Slow.

Good luck, sunshine!

The job market isn't great at the moment, I went through it last february when they made 40 people redundant buri knew I was safe, then 7 people left and now they are making a further 17 people redundant this is almost a whole floor of people, and we haw so much work aswell, I currently run 11 magazines which I do all the colour and retouching on, and I need help to get these done as there is so much work. If I am safe this time I dunno how we are gonna get all the work done even all the managers are panicking about how we are going to complete the work!

Cheers
