Looked at existing threads but obviously no luck as my question is product specific.

Looking on fleebay for the right kit but can't decide:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GATES-TIM...Plat_Gen:250|Model:Ducato&hash=item4d0757fe83

or

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TIMING-BE...Plat_Gen:250|Model:Ducato&hash=item3cccb192fc

Both items are listed as suitable for my 2007, Multijet 120 2.3 Diesel but it also says 250 (2001-2014) but I thought the 250 was only produced from 2006 onward. I tried the seller via email but no reply yet.

Not sure these will fit. Both these kits say they are for the 2.0 and For Engine Code:RHV (DW10). I think the 2.3 in the x250 is different to the previous versions.

Hi there, a piece of good sound advice is get genuine parts for this most important of jobs. I replaced mine last week and was quoted £350.00+ from the main dealers just for the parts, until I phoned GUEST Truck and van and spoke to Justin. He told me that Fiat currently had these on offer for £138.99 + vat. (£166.79)
None of the other dealers knew anything about these special offer's. The only down side was that it took four days to come from Italy, but had it delivered to my local Guest dealer in Leicester.
If you check the prices from Eurocarparts, you will find that Genuine Fiat are cheaper.
Guest might even have brought more than one when they ordered mine. Guest Motors phone number: 01215532737. Hope this helps!!!!!

I hasten to add that the price that I have indicated was also for the water pump. I would not consider doing the belt kit without doing the water pump as well, as a water pump failure could give the same outcome.
Sods law and piece of mind are sayings that come to mind!!!!!

Thanks for the info and yes you're right about doing the pump at the same time. I'm a bit worried about tackling the job because I have no lift so would be doing the job lying on my back and from what I've seen access is very restricted. How easy is it to screw up the timing during that job?

I've had a reply from aacarparts and they confirmed that the items I've listed don't fit but they can do the complete kit (with pump) for £147 delivered in the UK.

Hi again, although I am a motor mech, I didn't have the lift that I needed to do the job, so a friend did it for me and told me it was straight forward.
A word of caution, the extra £19.00 that it would cost to have genuine fiat parts, I strongly urge you to think seriously. I used to fit some of these after market pumps and belts and some have turned out to be little better than worthless. On something so critical always fit genuine, believe me, it's worth it.
