the 1301 or the 1372?!! and why plz?
as i always heared that 1301 is better but i dnt know why?

1301 has a marginally shorter stroker so it will be more rev happy, but only very slightly.

I don't think there is much in it. It's the turbo versions where the differences come in (the 1301 is apparently stronger and more suited for tuning). Even then I don't think the differences are that great.

Why do you ask?

the 1301 doesnt either ;)

Dunc

LOL yep Dunc my old mateys right there!! You're talking about on the inlet manifold, on the mark two it says turbo i.e or something similar somewhere near the fuel rail line in black. Both engines are good imo, mark 1 is less likely to suffer from bottom end failures due to the better block design but you wont have this problem if you run sensible amounts of boost on the engine.

But you're not talking about the Turbo engines, are you?
You are putting a replacement engine into an Uno 70?

Assuming it's complete, the 1372cc has fuel injection, so it would be my choice every time for smoother driving. But you'll have a project ahead of you to get the fuel injection wired up into an earlier car. Haynes manual would be the best resource for wiring diagrams.

Otherwise if you have the earlier 1301cc engine and you don't want a big project, just replace with another 1301cc.

Oops, well spotted Alex. I too thought Khalood was talking about the turbo engines

If it's non turbo, then nothing in it other than the 1372 is more recent. If yours is a carb model then you can also fit the 1500 X1/9 and 1600 Tipo engines straight in with their corresponding carburetors. If fuel injected it becomes more difficult, though I don't think the 1301 ever came injected in the Uno (with the exception of the MPI turbo version.)

1600 carb'ed Tipo engine would be a good swap if yours is a 1301 carb engine (y)

i was talking about turbo once guys :D
i already got my 1301T :D
i'll keep u updated

I am the sadest person in the worls :(

The fuel ECU is in the Air Flow Meter (AFM)

The ignition ECU is the one that is bolted to the bulk-head

Both arent in a sense, "aware" of each others presence

Basic start mate:

Is there fuel getting the the rail?
Is there a good spark coming from the spark plugs?
And is there air entering the cylinders? (snapped cam lobes or shaft! It does happen)
