HI guys/gurls,

Looking at a 1999 V reg Fiat Bravo HLX in bright glossy yellow and a 2001 52 reg Fiat Brava ELX in metallic blue. Both the same spec except ones a three door and the other a five.

Both the same price; but the Bravo is more stylish and sexy (especially in yellow) and the Brava is more practical and newer.

Both have alloys ETC. and are £2000 and £1990.

Any views?

Thanks, Matt

you know its got to be the yellow bravo
I do. There is something about them.

A sample for those who haven't seen one (this isnt the one im looking at by the way, but is the same exactly).

just the usual service history cambelt ect.

Also check that the rooflining isnt discoloured as this is a sign of the sunroof leaking, also check for damp under the mats.

With all this bad rain if its a leaker then it will show. Mine did today

Watch out for that lovely flashing or non flashing emmisions light, if you want a knackered bravo you can buy mine Y reg 48000 miles got that usual Fiat problem forgot the techincal name. Be very very very careful this is the second Fiat we've had that showed same problem managed to sell my Brava before it was too late - neighbour has a Punto same problem. 3 cars in same street what are the odds.

Bravo vs Brava :chin:

well its really a question of practicality, if you really need the extra doors get the brava, if you dont then the bravo is the better car in every respect apart from practicality.

the bravo looks better, has a stiffer chassis so it handles better, weighs less so it will be faster with the same engine and feel more agile on the road, the only down side is getting people in the back and the reduced leg room they have once they're in. i'm very shallow so i prefer my car to look good to strangers rather than be comfortable for people i know.

get the bravo you know it makes sense :)

Hmmmmm, well it seems I'm a bit late to this. I love the boot space, the rear seat space, the fact I can carry big things and lots of them and keep them dry :D And those who say it handles like pish weren't in the car with me when I wondered why a certain two cars in front with three doors kept braking so early and often when camping :p It may not be as good but it certainly isn't as far behind as three-door owners might like to think ;)

Personally i would say go for the brava. In my opinion it looks much better and is a little rarer.

But at the end of the day its what u want. U say uve always prefered the bravo so get it. And i agree yellow is definatly one of the best colours for the bravo

Definitely, mind you, black comes pretty close too

;) (y)

Personally - bravo. Practicality doesnt come in to it at all for me. I have 2 kids and a boot full of ICE. I usually take loads of gear down to the meets too (on seat next to little un in back including a 30ft gazebo!)

All depends what you want from the car at the end of the day
