the early 1.2 has gearbox problems (99) but Dans doesnt (skate)
granted mine has been very costly on the gearbox count, but that, in all honesty is down to me not being sympathetic at all. christ, i used £10 of petrol to get to Ash's on sunday morning, he lives less than 20 miles away.. but i was having alot of fun..
it is s superb lil car, not the most potent if your coming from a 1.6, as Ash will agree to, even though his is tuned and mine isnt. it did 400 miles on a tank of petrol on Sat going to Leeds n back, and on the way back i had a 1600 engine in the back, was driving sensibly (very for me) but is a damn good lil engine. i dont have mine angel tuned, and doubt very much i will be as ill be going down a diff route with Patch, but currently i have a punto box on it, and it is lively around town.. if you want to know anymore about the 1.2 gimme a shout mate
jtd hlx models are rare as rocking horse ****, and a good one can fetch up to about £3.5k
you would be better going for an sx, but look to see if there are any additional extras on it, for example tommy k's jtd sx has aircon as an option fitted.
the punto box has made it alot nippier in of the mark, but motorway speeds the engine is going some, about 3.5 - 4k revs for 70mph and it runs out of legs a bit sooner than it used to top end.
this box has lasted a few months already, but as you may or may not have gathered i have been through alot of boxes, but that is me not the car.
