Where's the Net Connection gone?

Partitions done
Backed up data copied over
Where has the internet gone?

The PC cannot connect to the internet, if I click repair connection I get the following error:

"Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action could not be completed:
Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection, cannot proceed".

Under the Connection Status - IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway are all blank. The Network Connection details are empty, yet the status is connected.


Any ideas on how I can fix this?
The internet is on and running fine (tried on a laptop and xbox).

Under TCP/IP properties is it set to Automatic?

Hi Chris, yes it is. its XP.

If you go to Start -> Run -> type "cmd" -> press enter

Then at the command prompt window type "ipconfig /all" what does the command return?

I'm guessing its a winsock problem but need to confirm before running the fix command.

Turns out it was the drivers for the network card that were not installed :bang:
