Looking at the history of the car, I can't see any note of it being changed and it's done 68k on a 58 plate. There was a post-it note on the 2013 service saying " Cambelt Due! Every 5 years regardless of mileage " Can't find any mention of it being done, so it needs doing sooner rather than later.
Luckily, I'm still driving the ****ty little Corsa until March, so I have time to have the cambelt, waterpump and aux belt done without it causing me a great deal of hassle, aswell as lubing up the gear cable because it's stiff as ****.
However, I'm having a little bit of trouble finding a aux belt! Managed to find a Cambelt kit on Ebay but I'm thinking I'll get the one from Shop4Parts, little bit more expensive, but it's more reputable than Ebay, and a few people on here have recommended them. But is it a genuine Gates one? How would I know when I got it?
Can't seem to find a aux belt from anywhere though. Can anyone shed some light for me?! I have a 58' 1.9 Bravo 150bhp WITH aircon. Did find this one on ebay. But in the listing it says "Additional Notes 2: For Vehicles Without Air Conditioning "
The cosmetic things like the paint damage can wait until I can go to my friends garage and do it properly rather than doing it half-assed. It needs a good clean, claying and machine polishing, so might aswell do everything in one.
Got a trick up my sleeve for the rear badge, the Mrs' friend has a 2 year old Fiat Punto, so I grabbed the badge that'd come off mine and put it up against hers. Same size, so a rear badge for a Punto is getting bought and the badge is getting pulled out and windscreen sealanted onto my Bravo. :devil:
