Hello,
Sorry to bore you all about CD autochangers again, but this should be a very easy one....
Where abouts is the connector for the autochanger in a 2000 (W) Marea Weekend (JTD ELX)? I thought it was supposed to be already to plug in as standard, is the wire hidden behind the trim? Or do need to run the wire supplied with the unit all the way to the head unit?
I had a look at the posts from a few days ago ref MCD46 - which is what I just got from Alcester Car Audio, ordered yesterday, delivered today, cheap price :)
Thanx
John

Where CD Lead?

Don't know about the Marea, but my Bravo was supposed to have a lead there and I haven't seen it....

In fact when I had my Sony Changer installed I asked the insataller and he said if it's there it's invisible...

Maybe that's it you got an invisible one like I did !

CD changer lead

Try looking behind the plastic panel in the boot on the left .this panel comes up to the rear light access.
(!Well that's where I found mine!)

CD lead

Thanks for your reply, just to clarify - do you mean the panel in the boot side trim behind the wheel arch that covers the cubby hole with the rubber strap in it, or the light coloured panel at window level directly in front of the rear lights?
I had a look in the first place, even removed most of the screws holding the boot side trim (the bit that runs the full length of the boot) and pulled the trim back, but couldn't see anything. Perhaps it's got tucked away under the floor - or my eyes are going.
I think I'll try checking the back of the head unit to see if there's anything there - at least I know where that is!
Cheers
John.

Where and how much?

Could you tell me where and how much you paid for the CD changer, I've been looking for a good deal on one myself.

CD changer supplier

I got it from Alcester Car Audio (01789 763816) for £170 +£9.95p&p.

CD changer lead

John.Sorry if I mislead you , my eyes must be going too!,I thought your car was a Brava/Bravo , you were looking in the right place ie the panel between the wheel arch and the rear light access panel (that's where it found mine in my Brava.Does the handbook mention anything about the lead?,failing that give your local friendly!! Fiat dealer a ring and ask .

They may have experience of fitting them - :).
Hope you get sorted I really enjoy my CD player.
Paul.

CD lead

Hello Paul, I phoned the Fiat dealer and he said yes that is where it would be if it was there. But, on W and X reg cars some have them and some don't, they had fitted changers to two W reg Mareas last month, neither had the lead in place.
Thanks for your help.
John.
