Yet i cant get a quote for a 20V Turbo?

Do you need to be over 25 or something?

when i was looking at insurance for my 20VT, i was getting quoted about £2000, i live in salford quays in manchester, which is nice, but has a bad postcode due to the salford area, elephant quioted me £833, so thats a big reduction, if you aint tried them, then get them called!

Try Greenlight, HIC and Noel Dazely. All are generally good for Coupes.

and your problem is?

You do relise that its a sports car, its a 220bhp sports car. Group 19.

If you dont want to pay that get a punto. If you think thats expensive you should reconsider getting one of these. They are expensive to run, to repair to tax.

In 8 months i paid 2-3k in repairs. You cant afford to be a cheap skate with these cars.

My 2.5 24V V6 Ford only cost me £550/year and that was over a year ago when i was a year younger and had one less NCB.

You mean a Cougar? They're group 14. You are going up 5 groups - that's why the quote is higher :)

thats up to you to decide.

You have to consider if one of these are what you really want. They have excellent power and the cars themselves are fairly cheap for a sportscar. But they are expensive to look after. I mean expensive. Many owners sell them within 12 months because they cant keep up with thie high running costs.

Have a look at some of the threads in this section.

Have you done any research on these cars or just decided you like the look of them?

If you just like the look of them get the 20v N/A. cheaper to run.

the running costs is true, i only get about 260 miles out of a tank, so they are thirsty, however, dont be too put off by the repairs bit, as i have had mine for 16 months now, and all its cost me is a new accelerator cable, touch wood!! I do appreciate that a lot of people have had many more problems than that with theirs, i mean, sammis cost her nearly as much in repairs in the year that she had it, than what mine cost me!!!

petrol wise i didnt go too wrong with it. I could regularly get 360 out of a tank whereas H would get about 280 out of a tank. The engine was sound on it.

You have to bear in mind that these cars are getting on a bit so and things start needing to be changed big time when they hit around 80k.

Mine was about 95k when i bought it, so the radiator went(£200), the manifold went(£550, bearings went. brake needed changing. New set of tyres all round and the tyres alone cost me £480 incl fitting.

Theres more to add but thats just a small example.

good point, mine has only done 55k, and its an R reg, dont wanna get in to another thread, or stray from the point, but how on earth did you get 360 miles from a tank?? I do only motorway driving, from manchester to bolton, dont nail it as such, and dont really speed on the motorway, the car is standard in the engine as well!!! whats going wrong???

i think i just had a really good engine. If i pushed it drving granny-style then i could get 400, but this is very rare.

I do a lot of motorway driving. Rochdale to warrington then warrington to Shropshire at a weekend. so miles piled up each week.
