Evening all,

I have got myself an Uno and I'm itching to make a start making it look better etc. One of the things that I wanted to do was put some wheels on (like most people that do there cars up do)

Would 16"'s fit straight off or would I need to make them fit?

16s with very skinny tyres (195/40s) would fit with some arch work, Duncs going to fit some to his UT.

But what engine do you have in your Uno?

Dunc can get away with fitting 16s as he cant get the power down with 15s (y) but putting 16s on a 1.0l is silly as it would kill the acceleration and top speed.

14s with 185/50s and a 60mm drop looks excellent.

15s with 195/45s fit too, but will require arch work if you plan to lower it (and lowering is definitely recommended!)

EDIT:
I saw these on ebay last week, they may not be your cup of tea but they will fit straight on with some 185/50 tyres and are going quite cheap atm.

With a Gmax 60mm lowering kit, your Uno would be looking

Thanks for your reply m8.

What about if I was to have 14"s with a lowering kit, would I still need to carry out some arch work then?

14s fit perfect with 60mm lowering, no arch mods needed at all.

Do you have a 1.0?

Theres only one suspension kit id recommend for a 60mm drop on the 1.0l, its the Gmax kit. They make one specifically for this model.

Every other kit that says it fits the 1.0l fits the turbo too, and this makes the front look too high due to the lighter engine in the 1.0l.

Has anyone got any pics or a link to any pics of an Uno with 14's that has also been lowered by 60mm? (just wanted to know how it looks)

Thanks,
Paul :)

I havent got many friends anyway so thats not a problem (hehe)

On a serious note, a bit of arch moulding will be ok!

Thanks for the help everyone!

there u go, 60mm kit with 14"s fitted

Thanks for posting up the pics!

I think Im going to go for 15's with 195/45s, deck it by 60mm with a G-Max kit and modify the arch to make the wheels fit :D

How does that sound to you lot? :)

imo 15s are too big.

You will lose accelaration and top speed. I very much doubt whether you would reach 90 with 15s on.

depends what engine its got.

999cc... no chance.. ran 15s myself and barley managed 80 :)

1.1 will run like a cinq on 15s.. well slower actually... doubt ital make 90 easy

1.4 go for it! i run a tipo with the same engine which is a bigger and heavier car and on 15s with 195/45s it pulls great and easily reaches 100.

1.4turbo .. what are u waiting for :p

As for looking to big... nah... they fill the arches perfect BUT they make the car look too high off the ground.. even when lowered 60mm. unos are rediculously high as standard anyway!

14s do look good tho.. and so do 13s actually :) anyone for smoors?

mmmm smoors would look amazing!

Wait until Ghost sells his 13" minilites! :D

Im actually shocked that your Uno couldnt get above 80 with 15s!

That's lowered -60 on Adj shocks and springs with 15" with 195/45 tyres...

And they scrubbed inside the arhes whenever I hit a bump! but it handled well on flat roads.lol
