General wheel knocking

my marea has a near side wheel knocking noise, when i shake it at 12 & 6 or 9 & 3 it feels loose and makes a knocking noise, it can also be heard when driving slowly( when turning to the right ).
it's really baffling as the garage had it on the ramp and could not find a fault.
would anybody please have any idea's?!!!

if it moves 12 & 6 then its probably the balljoint on the wishbone, but it could also be the droplinks or track rod ends causing it.

Bulldog is prolly right.When my car did this I got it on a lift at a mates garage and went round all the usual suspects with a crow bar without finding it. Changing the front Arb and drop links cured it.
