Some of you may know I've been in need of a new wheel hub for my Brava.

Managed to source one from an online scrapper but I was under the impression what I had on the Brava when it was converted with the coupe bits was that the donor car was a 16vt.

Having requested a 16vt hub, I've had something somewhat different arrive.

The following picture shows both hubs side by side. The one on the left is the correct one and the one on the right is wrong.

Can anyone identify what hub I actually have (as in the one on the left).

Thanks!

come on mate :) just cos ur older your memory shouldnt be going yet!

its the brava hub lol. we didnt use the coupe hubs in the conversion as you have the newer type abs. hence the brava hub stayed. basically you need to find a mk2 brava abs hub not a coupe one

and annon you know nothing. both are abs the one on the left (mk2) has a magnetic ferrus ring the one on the right (mk1) has non magnetic splines.

insy if you can knock the ring off the mk2 hub with out breaking it you should be able to fit it to a non abs hub.

Well, anon knows something. no, not just that they were wrong about the left hub, but at least he/she was able to identify that those ridges/splines, are part of the abs' lock detection system.
