hi all, back again :) passed my test and the car is now on the road :D YAY!

ive got a 900cc sx now i no its been asked hundreds of times and i no its never going to give big gains, but...... whats the best mod to do to the engine to get a bit more power???

I already have a janspeed backbox on which looks and sounds great.. i would probably say its given me a little extra torque too. I was talking to a lad down at the hulloween meet.. dunno if any of you went and he said that by fitting the focus induction kit of ebay he noticed more tourque and better acceleration. Can anyone back this up?? cheers.. and there's a cheeky pic of the car ;) just been lowered :)

yeah you will see small gains fitting a focus induction kit, so some truth in what you was told

However dont expect to be bowled over though, it will only be small gains

I have an 899, and yes it will never produce any power bla bla bla.

I found a trofeo exhaust mani, but there are is another one out there for about €300 forgot who makes it though.(found who sells it http://www.hottuning.nl/?nav=products&subnav=view&product_id=147)
I reckon, the 32 TB from a punto would work.

get the head skimmed as much as you dare/possible, reseat the valves, basically refurbish it.

You can do a little headwork, but you can't reach very far into the manifold.

you might might get it up to sporting standards.

remember the Trofeo cars had 68 bhp, can't find out what the mods on those were though (other than the mani' and a bespoke EC U)

sounds like you are talking about strut braces, the ARB is something different

:yeahthat: anti roll bar, fitted between the front swing-arms.
tbh you'll hardly notice mild performance upgrades like exhausts and induction on an 899, just makes it noisier and thus feel faster.. if you want a bit more speed why not just get a sporting - sure it'll be as cheap to insure as an 899 with mods - but your janspeed back box would fit it if you wanted to keep it.
Sporting is just so much more car from the off - faster, lower and better interior spec, can't go wrong
