i saw this photo on the forum and wondered what's that white plastic cover around the main pipes of exhaust infront?? and is that right ?? if so what's the advantages ??

its exhaust heat wrap on a 4-2-1 tube manifold to help keep the engine bay cool a lot of tuned and remaped cars have exhaust wrap and euro look cars have it as well

thanks alot for your reply (y) but a stupid question what do you mean by "Tuned" ? you mean turbo charge , NOs and so on or what ??
 
You will find that a standard car will have a meatel sheild over the front so that wraped around basicaly replaces it and is meant to be better.

Cats work faster when they heat up faster, but there won't be a huge difference in a car with a heated cat.

The stuff is expensive -- if you know someone who works at a power station, they can probably get it for free. A neater alternative is special coatings.

mmm well i think it's not neccesary for me because i installed the big radiator fan of the newer punto models instead of the stock small plastic one of the mk1 plus my cat needs to be changed so a new one will not need more heat i guess , anyway thanks for your advice :)
