General whatcan you do to a sei?

ok, bit of a silly question,

i kno alot of modding goes on, and im just wondering what it is actually possible to do to a sei.

i have a 1999 sei sporting abarth and am looking to put a tad more poke in it, (no turbo)

what can i add, and were can i get it?

depends what your price level is....

It can go from a GSR intake through improved throttle bodies and exhaust manifolds to engine swaps from other F.I.R.E engine equipped cars

Mostcommon seem to be the GSR intake, Mcritch ECU chip, tricker TB and Punto75 cam

This is a more-or-less standard recipe known to deliver a rather rappid cento & very cheap to insure if you go to the right companies.
1242cc conversion (HIC for instance say because a Punto 60, the donor for a 1242 conversion, & Mk1 Sei Sporting are in the same risk bracket there is no increase on the premium)
P75 Cam
40mm throttle body
GSR induction kit
some sort of remap
SuperSprint exhaust.

You're probably looking at a 15 to 20bhp gain over the 1.1 & a correspondingly large torque gain.

As above. Lower it a little, put Punto GT brakes on it.

It wouldn't. But in the real world, performance is governed as much by how quickly you can stop as how quickly you can go.

With a decent 1242, the stock brakes are marginal. With a turbo, they're woefully inadequate.

0-60 doesn't mean much on the road, the biggest thing you'll notice with that lot is the reduced 50-80 in 5th & how much better if pulls from 30 to 80 through the gears.

As said brakes and suspension won't do you much for 0-60 but will make the car more drivable on the street.

The other way to look at it is that if my brakes are better than yours (which includes factors like grip and feel) I can stay on the throttle longer. Believe me, a Cinq with Punto GT brakes and decent tyres will outbrake almost anything on the road.
