Hi everyone I am just about to take delivery of a nice bright red 16VT, the only thing I am not keen on is the wheels. I am looking for some 17's an was wondering what size tyres to fit. I need to know what are the widest tyres I can get away with without rubbing, as I am planning a power hike too, and consider the standard 205 width a bit too skinny. I know the later 20VT had 225 width but are there any other differences such as wheel offset etc.
Thank you for your help.

You are fortunate not to have to mess around looking for wheels that will clear the massive brembo's. I think 18's will fit no bother if you want to go bigger. I'm running 225/40/17 With no hassle.

I will probably go for 17's as they look ok if you get a good design, and are more practical than a 18. The tyres are cheaper, there is less unsprung weight etc, and the wheels theselves are cheaper. I did a searchy on tyre wise website for cost of tyres and they said 225/40/17 didn't exist, but I am sure they do. Otherwise will have to get 235/35/17.

I may have got my tyre size wrong  Let me go check (I have a tyre in the spare room  ) Yes sorry it's 215/40/ZR17.

Here's mine, 17" Wheelmania Jades

I think they suit the coupe, However they are not my choice, the previous owner fitted them. I smashed two last year  and it cost me £380 for two alloys alone, which is scandalous.

If I was to buy a set for my coupe, I would definetly go for these puppies
