If anyone out there can help me - I would really appreciate it.
Got a MK I Punto ELX 90 (1.6) N reg around 2 weeks ago, ran fine untill last night - changed from 1st to 2nd and there was a crunch and i lost all power to the wheels. Managed to coast on to a side street. Tried to start it in gear and drive home on the revs - but even starting it in gear there was no power going to the wheels....
Does this sound like a Clutch gearbox or driveshaft problem???.... the cluch makes no noises when depressed and has the same range of movement as before it broke down. When the problem happened there was an initial crunch but no grinding after.
The car hasnt been ragged only 50k on the clock and belonged to an oap before i got it...had regular servicing too..
any words of advice and possible costs of repair????
