Technical What is this?

I found this underneath the nearside sill on a HDI i'm stripping

Initial thought was it an oil cooler but it was full of fuel!

Any thoughts?

Its the fuel conditioner. It is used to keep the fuel at a cool temp when entering the injection system. This allows better flow,spray from injectors & ignition on hot days. Dont realy need it in the UK.
