Hi , Please see the video of my engine bay. Seems like I'm missing some things. I only bought this as a project so was expecting some things to need replacing anyway.

Also, the bonnet touches the wipers when putting the bonnet bar in. Any ideas on that?

Hi Matt

It looks like you are missing the fresh air intake. This runs from the middle of the box section above the radiator towards the nearside, then drops down to the air filter input. It's mostly plastic, with a small flexible section at the air filter end. Not essential, but maybe useful if you ever drive through a flood.

Can't see anything else missing, but it is a bit like playing a "spot the ball" competition !

The pressurised hose from the intercooler to the throttle body looks a bit odd, as though it has been wrapped in plastic tape which has suffered from the heat ? The standard hose is rubber, mostly covered in a woven nylon "sock" which presumably helps it resist expanding under boost pressure.

I think your wiper arm on the driver's side is set too low. Mine measures 47 mm on the offside, taken from the blade rubber to the bottom of the glass/lower windcreen seal. The other end of the driver's blade ( nearest the van centre) measures 70 mm, so the blade is angled almost but not quite parallel to the base of the windscreen. Maybe your arm has been bolted on one spline off ?

Cheers for the reply. I’ll see if I can get one of the connections to the air filter. Under the bonnet, the vent holes lead straight into the engine. What’s missing there? I did the wiper motor as it was faulty so put the arms back on. If I move them higher the blade goes past the window. Wondering if the previous owner put the wrong blades on. What size are yours?

Hi

Just measured the blades. The actual rubber strip that sits on the screen is 650 long on the driver's side and 600 long on the passenger side. The passenger one I fitted is a bit longer than standard because I have raised seats (swivel bases) and the longer blade means the passenger isn't peering through an unwiped bit at the top.

Between the passenger side slit vents in the bonnet and the heating/ventilation air intake (the thing with a big oval rubber squishy seal) there should be a piece of plastic duct that guides the air round through a right angle. It keeps engine fumes out of the cab ventilation.

Who has been swiping your piping ??

Was like that when I bought it. The wipers didn’t work when I bought it hence why I knocked him down and got the van for £1500. Ran perfect. Still does apart from the revs battery light issue. Looking at pics online it seems he tried to fix it and put the arms back on the wrong sides but put the blades on the correct side. Going swap them over as the arm that kicks up in the middle looks like it should be passenger side and it’s not on mine.
