I have been in Germany this week and had the opportunity to drive on the Autobahn for the first time in years.
What a fantastic feeling to see a road sign which means that you can go as fast as you want, as long as it's not raining etc.
I wasn't driving anything really scary (Merc E Class 2.2 diesel), but 135mph feels good!!!
The lane discipline is amazing. It's fantastic when a gap opens up and you can just floor it without putting your license and liberty in jeopardy.
How long will it last?

Highway driving standards in Germany are amazing compared to here. Your average German driver must think about our motorways the same way we think about Indias.
What is also amazing is that the majority of the autobahns are only like our dual carriageways (i.e 4 lanes). Also you are not supposed to flash people to move over - they do it out of habit and good discipline.

O'h MEP, the petrol in your veins has been replaced by boring blood! You need a transfusion quick! I know it's only a road, and at 135 you certainly use more fuel than at 70, but hey, you only live once, unless of course you are James Bond...
