weird light question

this may come as a weird question

but what are those lights that shine blue until your right near them and then they go yellow. xenon i think they are called but i think am wrong


anyway how much do they cost and are they a straight swap for the bulbs that are in my car now. i really like them and think that it would look great on my car at night.

You maybe talking about Marea HXL/ELX polyecliptical headlights.

I have them and at day when looking from far they change colour blue, purple, green etc but when you move closer to car light is yellow

If you buy these lights you can buy HID Xenon Conversion Kit and your light will always be white, blue, or purple

You're confusing 2 things, bulbs and the actual light fixture itself

Projector lights cause rainbowing as you describe with ALL bulbs. The marea ELX/HLX came with these fixtures.

HID bulbs (commonly and incorrectly called 'Xenon') put out a lot more blue light and coupled with a projector light will give more of a rainbow effect.

HID bulbs in a normal light fixture such as the stock bravo one won't give the effect.

well i got me some xenon look alikes from halfords and fitted them and they are a much better and brighter white.

not too bothered about the blue effect. cause just looking at them turned on makes the car look better. am happy that instead of a yellow tinge to the lights they are a more brilliant white.


eventually will look into getting some proper xenon lighyt fixtures but these look fine for now
