Later this year I will be in the enviable position of having a brand new car, so ... The weekend will have to go...

Can anyone give me a rough estimate of what its worth please? Its a 1999 weekend, 2.0l. 20v, 155bhp.HLX, 143000 miles and 2nd cambelt last changed towards the end of last year at motormech, very nice people. Also just had 4 new tyres and rear handbrake cable for mot. Has also had complete new exhaust this year.

Thanks in anticipation.:)

Leave it another year and it'll be worth £2000 under the scrappage scheme. :)

Otherwise similar cars are price around £500.

The scrappage scheme will only last 12 months as I understand it. The good thing is that although your car might not be eligible I think the scrappage scheme could push up the price of older used cars, at least temporarily. I would try putting it up for £700 and see where it gets.

I think the mileage is gonna keep the price down. £750 is too optimistic. Check out autotrader and compare the market dot com. :)

My wife qualifies for Motability, so we are getting a brand new Chevrolet Lacetti 1.8sx auto estate, and n px involved, so all I need to do is dispose of the Weekend. Money isnt really a problem as long as it goes ! :)

Thats fair enough mate, whatevers best for her in the long run - shame about the weekend tho , a friend of Mrs Jokers got 2 disabled kids (cracking boys) and shes just got the new Ulysse 8 seater(BITCH) not that in jealous of course...........

check the small print of motability deal
over a certain milage you pay extra, normal wear n tear they give you a bill for it.....

Yes, 20,000 miles per year and we only have to pay any money if we exceed 60,000 over 3 years. As far as we were told by the dealer, normal wear and tear is acceptable ? I will check the agreement though !

The great thing about our Weekend is that it is a good car cheap to run everything works and it does everything you want but only represents about £250 of capital tied up. The £1000 the govt is kicking back from other taxes we pay will not have much effect, the market will adjust to trim it out although it may keep a few car salesmen off the dole until the money runs out just after they have to hold an election.

TBH if i had the room i would probably collect a few Marea and sell them on when the used car prices suddenly go up or when the recession is over as they are worth much more than they are fetching at the moment!

I think you would have to keep them quite a while cause its gonna be a long time before this shower of sh*t gets this country sorted
