Technical Water leak boot, 500 MY2007

Found water intrusion in the boot of our 500 Sport (2007).
Water seems to come in from the taillight area(passenger' side) and floods into the sparewheel compartiment.
Already removed the taillight, nothing suspicious seen.

Any help would be welcome here.

Water ingress is always difficult to solve. One problem I had was water passing into the boot via the rubber seal on the rear windscreen wiper. I solved this by coating the inner surface of the seal with silicone grease.

The above was on my Alfa but it could happen on a 500?

Water intrusion into the boot area is a known 500 problem and IIRC there is a dealer tech service bulletin for poor sealing around the rear bumper brackets.

Water leaks can come from almost anywhere, but those rear bumper brackets would be the first thing I'd check.

Squadrone Rosso had a car with this issue fixed last month; read about it here.

Thanks for your advice jrkitching, I decided to have a closer look today ...

I removed the rear bumper which went quiet easy, 3screws to remove in each wheelarch, two on top and two below.
I noticed that the brackets were attached to the body using pop-nails.
I all drilled them out and replaced them with adequate screws, with some sealant between it.
It took me about 2 hours, re-assembly included.
On the next rainy day, I"ll park the car outside and check the boot... Fingers crossed

The problem is solved.
No, not because of my intervention fixing the brackets (previous post).
After the boot was filled with water again :bang:, I finally found the root cause.
When removing the bumper (again), I noticed a little hole (5mm) below the bumper bracket on the corner.
When I injected some water there, It flood out on the inside spot I already noticed...
I fixed the problem applying some sealant on the trouble spot.
After some hours in the rain, it's dry. I like to keep it that way ...
