Hi Guys

I eventually got around to purchasing one of the water drip trays that prevents water from dripping onto the cambelt and causing premature failure which has the real possibilty of a new engine being required.

I found that Peugeot were the cheapest at £19.06 inc vat, part number is 824871

Very easy to install it just clips onto the 2 pipes under the expansion tank and directs any water towards the very rear of the engine bay.

I am still trying to figure out where exactly this water is meant to be coming from.

A cheap and easy install that could save you thousands.

Pete

the water would come from the screen. if it was coming from the expansion bottle, then we would be seeing low coolant warnings long before the belt got to breaking point.

Will look at getting one of these.

Peugeot in Ireland wanted €46.60 + VAT @21.5% for that!!!!!!!!! and we have more rain that you. I believe it is rain water that it is designed to deflect, it appears that it can drip from the windscreen area onto the belt despite the belt cover, I think it is a long term thing with more continual damp rather than a deluge that affects the belt. check the eurovan2 site for more info. I can't believe the difference in price from the main dealers. I priced at Pug here as Citroen had never heard of it and it would be pointless asking Fiat here, worse than useless.....

As I have said before, I get most of my parts from our local Pug dealer, as they know what they are doing.

They do agree with me tho, the Fiat dealer (not mentioning any names as I don't want to be seen as being derogatory towards Stoneacre in Grimsby) don't know there are ar$e from their elbow!
