What a couple of gonks they are.

the X5 has a 4.4 v8 340bhp engine and just won it, in fact if u look closely the bravo had him in 2nd gear but the x5 is auto so it saved those precious seconds.

The only reason the X5 was lacking at lower speeds is because its heavy AND four wheel drive. Automatic actually slows cars down because it short shifts... a lot. My 90hp 1.4 Bravo is faster than than my Friends 1.6i auto Focus... before he wrote it off with me in the passenger seat, that is... and is JUST slower than 1.8 diesel turbo Focus.

ok it may be heavier but to have a 4400cc V8 340bhp vs a 1.4 150bhp bravo and only just win by a cars length, a auto saves time as the bravo driver only lost because he had to lose acceleration to change his gear.

i already beaten two different x5, probal 3.0d
its like comparing the 1.4 bravo to even the 150 multijet....
in 1st and 2nd gear acclerating i feel the 1.4 feels a bit peppier then the bravo as the turbo does tend to bog down if you dont catch it just right... however get to 30 and its bye bye 1.4.... the 150 in 3rd will put your head back enough

yes agree but the torque is more important and also the gearing.... the x5 still won
