hi all ive not been on here for a while what with getting a new house etc
you may remeber i was trying to sell my car a while back but im keeping it now until the new punto turbo comes out which i will get through the company!!

anyway i got my abarth back in june/july from the bury fiat dealer as an ex demo they agreed a full 3 year warrenty as the car was registered in feb but not realy used!!
i asked about modifications and how they would effect the warrenty, they simply said that say you lower the car and wanted to bring it in for a suspension fault they could not do any thing as its not a fiat part fitted etc!!

about a month ago my forth gear started feeling very tight and slightly grinded when you selected it!!
i poped into the dealer just to get there opinion, as soon as i opened the bonet he said they wont even touch it under warrenty due to it having an induction kit??!!
the absolute cock of a head mechanic started coming out with all the usual ******** about it being performance enhansing modification thus causing extra stress on the running gear and so on and so on!!
i just laughed in his face and asked when i can book it in and told him he was a very funny guy, but he just reply seriously and said yeh but at your own cost sunshine and your looking at well over 5k if it needs a new box!!

i havnt had chance to talk to customer care with it being a busy time of year etc

was just wondering where i stand ori f i put the car back to standard and then tryed again would i get a better response??
also as the car is through fait finance can i cancel my agreement and hand the car back without being screwed when i want credit again??
your help would be much apreciated:)

I had my selespeed gearbox actuator replaced under warranty - and my car had a CDA fitted; the dealership and the FIAT assessor had no qualms in agreeing the claim.

Maybe try another dealer - how easy is it for you to replace the kit anyway?

would take about an hour to change the kit as its all custom pipe work so might just do that and take it to the manchester branch and see what they say!! cheers matey!!

Talk to customer care,be honest about it & I think it shouldn't be a problem.I have seen many done (& punto clutches) with induction kits fitted,by the way a gearbox is not 5K even including labour!
