Punto Evo warm up time

Hi guys, my punto evo seems to take a while warming up.
The temperature gauge goes half way as it should, just takes a while, but if I'm stopped for a few minutes with the fan on it drops to a quarter then as I move off goes up again. Is this normal? New car you see & maybe I'm comparing to much to the ZR I had before it.

My old mk2 done the same in the cold conditions. Not noticed it with my sporting, but I know that the cold conditions can cause the temp gauge to fluctuate.
