General want to buy new doorlocks

in need to buy new carlocks for my car, wheres the best place to buy from

EBay or scrapyard you will just end up with 2sets of keys one for the door one for the ignition barrel but U can just have 1key for all locks if U change the ignition barrel and code box possably the ecu as well but i could be wrong on that 1 all off the same donor car

can you not just take the transponder out of the old key and put it in the new key from the scrappies (or wherever you get it from) and that solves the immobiliser issue??

I've never tried but i'm pretty sure thats the case.

To get the chip out I think you have to nearly destroy the key :|

yeah its the actual barrels themselves my passenger door will not open via key..infact the its stiff so wont budge ....
and occasonally the drivers side sticks ..so im assumiing seeming as she's 14 yrs old the locks are weariing.
how expensive are we looking at replacing the door locks and is it difficult to do urself (not tht im able mind lol) or to pay to have some1 come and fix them?

and cldnt i just keep key's n ignition switch and just have a NEW set of keys for the doors and the ORIGINAL keys for my boot n igniton...dont want to fix something when its not broke n the 1st place

that would work just go to a scrappers and get door locks off another mk1 punto along with keys, there not to hard to remove just need basic tools like screwdrivers spaners Allen keys

thnx blu i also thought i had the 16v model till the other day wen my haynes came thru and told me different as 16v better than 8 v lol.
