Anyone know if a W reg 1.6 Marea engine will fit into an S reg Bravo 1.6 SX?

Need to know ASAP,

Thanks a lot,

Craig.

Ok, thanks Tom. Does it make it a lot harder using a Mk2 engine instead of a Mk1?

Craig.

A bit as they have a different fuel rail. The Mk1 has a constant flow system with a send and return to the tank, the Mk2 has no return.

I think the wiring loom is the same but the ECU part numbers are different.

As long as you get the ECU the fuel lines should be easy to sort.

I see. So what exactly would I need to do to the Mk2 engine to make it work in my Mk1 do you think? Would it be worth the hassle since I've found a Mk2 1.6 or shall I wait till I find a Mk1 unit?

Thanks again for your advice and opinions - don't know what I'd do without it!

Craig.

Sorry to give bad news, but according to the Haynes manual the later engines ECU has two connectors instead of one (like in the older). It doesn't make the job impossible, but v. difficult.
